“Since ending my term on the board in 2000, I have found my place as a volunteer. I came to realize after a short period of time what a huge impact Catherine’s House has on homelessness for women with children and displaced women. There was such a wide variety of reasons for their situations. If only there had been a Catherine’s House for my mother, siblings and myself I know that our relationships would have turned out so differently. Instead, today we remain disconnected even after 40 years. My mother recently passed and I am so sad for all the time wasted that we could have had together. If as a volunteer I can help change one family’s outcome for the better, I will know I am at the right place and the right time in my life and will also make a difference in someone else’s life. I encourage everyone to find this right time and place for themselves and make a difference.” – Volunteer Laura

“As a volunteer receptionist at Catherine’s House, I receive many phone calls from women desperately seeking a safe place for themselves and their children.  Those families who come to Catherine’s House find a safe and welcoming home, as well as many opportunities to change their lives, a fresh start.  As a transitional home, Catherine’s House offers residents so much more than a traditional shelter.  I often think of all the women and children who have already experienced all that Catherine’s House offers and all of the families who will be helped in the future.  I am most grateful to share in the ministry at Catherine’s House.”  – Volunteer Pam

I volunteer at Catherine’s House every Wednesday. I do this because of the wonderful organization Catherine’s House is. They give women and children housing, but most importantly support and guidance to make their lives better. I’ve seen women leave Catherine’s House with new found confidence and excitement for their future. Catherine’s House continues to make a difference in so many lives.” – Volunteer Margaret
