Case
Management
Case Management at Catherine's House involves a variety
of services designed to assist residents' transition from homelessness to
successful independent living.
Case management includes, but is not limited to:
- goal planning,
- resource referrals,
- advocacy,
- budgeting and financial development,
- crisis intervention and
- supportive counseling.
Catherine's House also hosts several in-house groups
designed to teach residents various life skills and offer emotional support.
They include:
- Resident's Meeting: weekly group that provides an
opportunity for staff and residents to discuss house concerns.
- Nutrition/Cooking Class: weekly group that teaches
basic nutrition and provides hands-on experience in kitchen preparing healthy
meals.
- Parenting Class: weekly group that teaches important
parenting skills for children of all ages as well as appropriate discipline
techniques.
- GED: opportunity to earn a GED diploma is available on
campus.
- Empowerment Class taught by former resident.

Therapy
is also available and is provided by our in-house counselor. She offers
individual and group therapy for adults and is also qualified to provide play
therapy for children ages three (3) and up.
The Program Director also schedules a variety of
additional monthly programs depending on the needs of the residents. Some of
these have included:

educational presentations on HIV/AIDS,
-
CPR training,
-
budgeting and credit counseling,
-
tenant education programs and
-
presentations by various non-profits also providing
services for the homeless.
